Shakhtar Academy Scafati is the first official FC Shakhtar Donetsk academy in Italy.
Founded in 1936, FC Shakhtar Donetsk is one of the most prestigious clubs in Ukraine and Europe. The name Shakhtar means "miner", a tribute to the industrial roots of the city of Donetsk and the passion of the Ukrainian mining people. With 15 Ukrainian championships, 15 national cups, and the UEFA Cup victory in 2009, the club has built a winning tradition of over 80 years. The Shakhtar Academy is considered one of the best in the world: it has developed generations of talents who now play in the biggest European leagues, thanks to a cutting-edge methodology and one of the most productive youth sectors on the continent.
On January 4, 2026, Shakhtar Academy Scafati opened its doors, the first official FC Shakhtar Donetsk academy in Italy. We bring to Campania the same development methodology that has produced champions like Mykhailo Mudryk, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Anatoliy Trubin, and Giorgi Sudakov. Every training session follows the programs of the Ukrainian academy, adapted to the children's age, with a focus on technical, motor, and personal development. Our young players grow through a structured pathway, in a safe and stimulating environment, under the guidance of qualified coaches.
We believe in the complete development of the young footballer: technique, tactics, discipline, and character. Every child is at the center of our method. We don't just train athletes, but people: respect, commitment, and the joy of playing are core values of every session. We work on motor and cognitive development, teaching children to make quick decisions on the field and to believe in themselves. Our goal is to bring out each child's talent, valuing individual abilities and team spirit, so that every boy and girl can grow happy and self-confident through football.
Technical Director
Evgenii Babii is the technical director of Shakhtar Academy Scafati. With solid experience in youth football and deep knowledge of the FC Shakhtar Donetsk methodology, he leads our coaching staff in training young footballers. His philosophy is based on the complete development of the child: technique, tactics, discipline, and character, with the goal of growing not only great footballers but above all great people. Every training session is designed to have fun, teach, and bring out the best in every boy and girl.
